Susan Utsugi

Relationship banking.

During her 21 years in the banking industry, Susan Utsugi, our Women's Business Central Program Manager has always believed that the relationship between banker and client is important.

“We often hear the term "relationship banking" but what does it mean?” says Susan. “To me, it means caring about my clients. It means understanding their businesses and their priorities so I can better identify their unique needs, and help them grow and prosper. It means looking out for their best interests. This means sometimes playing Devil's advocate, but also going to bat for them. It means that we are in it for the long haul, through ups and downs. Businesses and its owners go through different seasons. I want my clients to know that Central Pacific Bank will be there for them.”

Susan is currently the Vice President and West Oahu Regional Manager. She has held various positions in Commercial Banking and Branch management. Her goal as a commercial banker is to develop enjoyable banking relationships based on mutual trust and respect.

“I have great respect for my clients as I see the sacrifices they make, the hard work, and the heart and soul that they put into their business,” says Susan. “It’s exciting to see dreams become reality.”
